Ali & Kristian – A Winter Engagement Session at Mellon Park

If you get a snow-covered engagement shoot where the sun is out in Pittsburgh you should feel incredibly lucky! I met Ali & Kristian at Mellon Park in Squirrel Hill for their engagement session on the perfect winter day. We had the best light, no crowds, and the most fun, laugh-filled hour together. 

Mellon Park is such a wonderful place for an engagement session (hence why it is so busy on a summer day) because it has so many different elements. Stone and iron, grass and trees, stairs and pathways. There is something so classic about all of the features of the park!

I have to say that Ali & Kristian definitely win best dressed couple in the Maggie Ann Photography yearbook with Ali’s plaid jacket and Kristian’s long coat, they absolutely killed it!

I also presented Ali with the idea of renting some flowers for her engagement session from Something Borrowed Blooms, and she chose the WTOO bridesmaid bouquet. Definitely will be offering this to future brides at their engagement sessions, it really helped to add a piece of life and softness to the winter landscape. 

I knew the three of us would get along because we have chosen to get married at the same venue! And not only that – but almost exactly a year apart! I cannot wait to photograph Ali & Kristian’s wedding in September of 2022 at the Mayernik Center.
