I had never been to Northmoreland Park, but one of my best friends confirmed it was going to be perfect for my session with Crendia & Megan who met at work and never had professional photos taken!
Northmoreland Park is such a classic mix of water and walking paths, but we were feeling fortunate to find some high dry reeds to play with and they were down to explore. Crendia & Megan are truly such a beautiful couple – an example of unconditional love; supporting each other in every sense of the word.
After discussing with them I wanted to use this opportunity to raise awareness about Traumatic Brain Injuries during TBI Awareness month (March). Megan had a stroke that led to her TBI and her rehab with Craig Hospital in Colorado allowed us to explore together, but they wanted to photograph her in her wheelchair as well as it is a huge part of their life. There is a lot of information to learn more about Traumatic Brain Injuries at BIAA which is the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA). It a national health organization dedicated to brain injury prevention, research, education and advocacy.
People like Megan are #MoreThanMyBrainInjury, she is a vet tech, a partner, and a kind person in this crazy world. You can find other personal stories and educate yourself on TBI here: https://www.biausa.org/brain-injury/community/personal-stories
Please enjoy some of my favorites from their couple’s session in Pittsburgh, PA at Northmoreland Park.
