After planning a styled shoot back in February of 2023 I realized what a love and passion I have found in combining photography with wedding style and planning. With an absolutely crazy 2023 wedding season, I knew my next styled shoot had to wait, which lead me to March 2024.
I wanted this styled shoot to create an opportunity in the bleak months for color, fun, and vibrant energy and to work with vendors that I respected and pieces that sparked joy. These vendors are highlighted here in this blog.
I had the vision, and needed the space to fully execute it, which lead me to the Monarch Veil’s Cardinal House it was the perfect mix of rustic in an intimate setting. After working with Dean we were able to secure the grounds and Cardinal House for the shoot – allowing the photographers to have more room to spreadout and fully utilize the wonderful outdoor ceremony space.
To me, the florals are always such a crucial piece to making the whole concept come together, and from the very beginning I knew I wanted to utilize Something Borrowed Blooms’ rental faux flowers. They are modern, stunning, and the business plan is ingenious. Their Kinsley collection (which has since been updated to a more wildflower style) nearly matched exactly what I was looking for.
The stations for the styled shoot ended up being a sweetheart tablescape, our model couple with a custom backdrop, a flat lay station, and finally a mobile bar. After an unfortunate circumstance made for the cancellation of a lemonade stand, I reached out to the Buzz Bar, and we were able to work together to come up with a replacement concept for mocktails even better than we could’ve planned! Most items were pieced together for the sweetheart tablescape with furniture the venue already had, items from Amazon and Etsy, and the rented florals shaped into a custom swag by me. However, we were so lucky to have an amazing table number and backdrop created by the Toasted Hostess, it really made the blank slate of the outdoor space stand out and create something truly bold and energetic.
My favorite part of a flat lay station is always the stationery, because while I can provide extra florals, rings, and other accessories, the main star is always the invite suite and/or the save the date. Proof and Parchment provided the stationery for this shoot and she designed the perfect citrus, bright, fun and funky set to bring it all together.
Finally, we had our amazing models Brielle and Tyree who had so much fun taking on all of the poses and instructions from our attending photographers. Brielle wore a dress rented from Raw & Golden Rentals, and Tyree wore a custom suit from Alain Dupetit. Hair and makeup was stunningly and artistically executed by Pittsburgh Glam Team.
Please see some images captured by me during this wonderful day below, and find more on instagram @PittsburghStyledShoots captured by our other amazing attending photographers!
Another styled shoot will be announced soon, keep your eye on socials for that announcement!
